About the Climate Team

Jake Kuester, Project Manager
Jake Kuester is a Project Manager specializing in climate action planning, greenhouse gas inventories, and sustainability implementation. He has authored multiple climate action plans and supports communities in turning emissions data into practical climate strategies.

Marine Iriart, Sr. Analyst/Carbon Accountant
Mariné Iriart specializes in carbon accounting, decarbonization, and climate action planning. With a background in environmental engineering, she has seven years of experience developing GHG inventories, emissions reduction strategies, and energy efficiency analyses for organizations and communities.

Alex Angerman, Sr. Technical Writer
Alex Angerman is a senior technical writer specializing in Tribal climate, sustainability, and environmental planning. She brings experience in climate adaptation, environmental grant writing, and technical planning, with an emphasis on incorporating Indigenous knowledge and community priorities into climate solutions.

Jamie Judkins, Account Executive/Program Manager

No. Planning and technical assistance are provided at no direct cost to participating ATNI member Tribes.

We are here to help your Tribe develop a greenhouse gas inventory and climate action plan shaped around your priorities, capacity, and existing work.

You don't, but identifying projects that can reduce emissions not only provides you a pathway to reduce emissions, it creates benefits to your community in ways you wouldn't normally see without this process.

No. Your Tribe can develop a comprehensive CCAP or focus on specific sectors, departments, projects, or priorities.

Build on it. Existing plans can be updated or expanded to reflect new projects, priorities, data, or opportunities.

No existing inventory is required. Greenhouse gas inventory development is included in the planning process.

Yes. A CCAP can organize priorities, document needs, identify projects, and help demonstrate readiness when relevant funding opportunities arise. Participation does not guarantee future funding.

Tribal data sovereignty will be considered throughout the process. Data needs, use, requirements, and protections will be discussed before information is shared.

EPA has confirmed that these plans will not currently be posted publicly. Applicable reporting requirements will be discussed before moving forward.

The current project period runs through June 30, 2027.
